Kanata Recreation Complex (Softball)

The Kanata Recreation Complex includes recreation program space and two full-size arenas (Tom Flood Arena and Garry Burke Rink) with spectator seating. The Kanata Recreation Complex is located in Walter Baker Park surrounded by various sports fields, park, a splash pad and toboggan hill.

Nepean Sportsplex (Lacrosse)

The Nepean Sportsplex is a multi-purpose facility serving residents and visitors to Ottawa for over 40 years. The Nepean Sportsplex hosts 30-plus regional, provincial, national and international sporting events as well as 35 special events per year. Our facility serves over 1.5 million clients annually, who enjoy any of the following amenities: An impressive aquatic centre with a 50 metre Olympic pool with diving towers and springboards, a 25 metre family pool, a children’s wading pool and a therapeutic whirlpool. The centre also features three North American size rinks: The Yzerman and the Allen J. MacDonald arenas, and a 10 sheet curling centre. A 3,000 sq. feet weight room and fitness centre including four squash courts, a studio and gymnasium as well as a large outdoor Sports field area featuring two baseball diamonds, a soccer field, the Minto sports field turf, a lawn bowling turf and pavilion as well as outdoor fitness trails.

Dominion Arboretum (3D Archery)

The Dominion Arboretum is an arboretum part of the Central Experimental Farm of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Originally begun in 1889, the Arboretum covers about 26 hectares of rolling land between Prince of Wales Drive, Dow’s Lake and the Rideau Canal.

The 2021 MIG Organizing Committee will plan a 3D Archery Course in this beautiful lush landscape, that is centrally located and in close proximity to Lansdowne Park.

Pine View Golf Course

Pine View Golf Course is a 36-hole golf facility in Ottawa, Ontario. The Championship Course is a 6540-yard par 72 parkland design that will challenge every level of golfer. This mature style course provides ample landing areas for tee shots as well as large putting surfaces that are well guarded by bunkers. The Executive Course is a 3913-yard par 64 layout with 9 par 3’s, 8 par 4’s and the par 5 finishing hole. Bunkers and water hazards come into play on numerous holes to provide challenges to golfer of all abilities.

RA Centre

A member supported not-for-profit organization, the Recreation Association of the Public Service of Canada (best known as the RA or RA Centre) operates a multi-sport, recreation and leisure facility, conveniently located in the heart of Ottawa. With over 22,000 members, there is no other operation in Ottawa that matches the scope of activities and memberships of the RA. The RA offers over 50 member activities including an extensive range of sports, recreation, fitness and leisure for individuals of all ages. The RA is the destination to add great experiences to your life in a safe environment that values fun, respect and excellence. The RA Centre offers the convenience of an on-site restaurant, coffee shop, outdoor patio, conference rooms for meetings, weddings and banquets, and the services of a Physio and Massage Therapy Clinic.

The RA Centre is the only dedicated Badminton facility in the region. Home to some of Canada’s top ranked Badminton players who are proud to call the RA Badminton Club their home club.

Rideau Canoe Club (Canoe)

The Rideau Canoe Club is a non-profit organization located in the City of Ottawa with over 100 years of history. Founded in 1902, the club was originally located on the Rideau Canal at the foot of Fifth Avenue in the Glebe. In 1946, the club reorganized as the Rideau Canoe Club and in the following year, relocated to its current location at Mooney’s Bay. In 2010 the current building, built on the same foundation with the cooperation of the federal government, the Province of Ontario and the City of Ottawa under the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program and fund raised by the Rideau members.

The Rideau Canoe Club is consistently among the top canoe clubs in Canada. In 2015, in partnership with the Eastern Ontario Division, the Rideau Canoe Club hosted the Canoe Kayak Sprint National Championships and CanMas.

Terry Fox Athletic Facility (Athletics – Track & Field and Cross Country)

 

The 2021 MIG Track and Field and Cross-Country events will take place at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility. Terry Fox Stadium, also known as the Terry Fox Athletic Facility is an athletic field in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, named after cancer research activist Terry Fox. It has a regulation-size natural grass soccer field, surrounded by a 400-metre track.

*Please note that the University of Ottawa is temporarily closed to all external events and programs. The University of Ottawa is tentatively scheduled to host both the Basketball and Volleyball competitions for the 2021 MIG, to be confirmed at a future date, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

University of Ottawa (Basketball and Volleyball)

Basketball and Volleyball competitions for the 2021 MIG are tentatively scheduled to take place at the University of Ottawa, at the Montpetit Gym.

The Montpetit Hall gymnasium hosts the women’s and men’s basketball and women’s volleyball varsity teams home games. Many recreational activities, including drop-in activities like badminton, volleyball, basketball, etc., and group fitness classes, like Zumba, also takes place at Montpetit gyms. The gymnasium can be divided into three sections of 722 square meters or in two sections of 1430 square meters. Bleachers can also be installed.
